Madison was the third stop on Van Halen's first world tour in 1978. The 7th floor of the Sheraton Inn hotel would not be the same after their 3 day stay.
They were supposed to play the Orpheum Theater with Journey and Montrose, but the venue didn't have enough room so they wern't going to play in Madison
but a last minute deal was struck for them to play at The Shuffle Inn.
On the liner notes of their second album, Van Halen II, the band thanks "The Sheraton Inn (Seventh Floor), Madison, Wisconsin..."
