Mrs. Frances Gallagher is found seriously injured after being beaten in her home on Center Avenue.
Frances' daughter, Hazel Williams, who lived with her, is found murderd in a bathtub two doors away in an empty unheated house with 40-50 stab wounds in her chest.
Gallagher owned that residence and Hazel was showing a man the place as a possible renter.
