Man Murders Four, Two Were His Children, Commits Suicide

Dec 3, 2009 - Madison, WI

Tyrone Adair killed two mothers and their young daughters, and then committed suicide. He was the father of the two girls and involved in paternity cases with both women.

Adair killed Tracy Judd (who also went by Tracy Graser) and their daughter, put their bodies in the trunk of his car and drove to the Branch Street Retreat. At around 2 p.m. he took a cab back home. He then left in Judd's car at about 3 p.m.

Amber Weigel and her daughter Neveah's bodies were found around 6 p.m. by Weigel's boyfriend in a car in the garage of the home the three shared at 6827 Park Edge Drive. They had been shot, authorities believe between 5:30 and 6 p.m.

At 7:21 p.m. Adair talked to Judd's other children, 12-year-old twin girls, telling them that he was behind the Walmart Supercenter in Dodgeville and that their mother and sister "would not be coming home tonight because they had had a bad accident on Branch Street."

Judd and Deja Adair's bodies were found at about 9:15 p.m. Adair's car was parked and covered with fresh snow at the Forest Ridge Apartment complex at 2612 Branch St. "The initial search of the vehicle turned up nothing, but upon further inspection a search of the trunk turned up an adult female and a child." The Coroner's Office said they were victims of "homicidal attacks that were not related to firearms."

Tyrone Adair's body was found four days later inside Judd's snow-covered car on a remote farm at 3479 Natvig Road, off County Highway N, just north of Highway 12-18 near the Town of Cottage Grove. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, two handguns were found inside the vehicle. The property owner said he saw the SUV December 4th, but thought it belonged to a friend.

Records also reveal that three other women sought domestic abuse restraining orders against Adair but only one secured one. That restraining order was granted from 2006 to 2010, after the woman alleged Adair was "physically intimidating ... and harassing," threatened her and destroyed her property, including slashing two of her car tires. She "felt unsafe" in her apartment because of Adair breaking in. She also wrote that he "tells me he could kill me." His criminal record included two battery convictions and bail jumping. Adair was prohibited from possessing a firearm because of the restraining order but purchased one of the guns, a 9mm handgun, on the online site Craigslist.
